(last poem for doug)

the sun shined today:

the snow melted &

ran in little streams

down the street.

just a year ago,

our love blossomed with

the daffodils &

grew like grass,

overwhelming us like

the scent of wild

roses where we made

love.   but now

our love melts like the snow,

running in little streams,  into the sewer.
