NaPoMo Day 23

shadow  “shadow”  photo by billy coe.

(the art of depression)

locked in a mood

of hatred & despair

ever deepening

ever hardening

unable to find my way

unable to laugh, unable to cry

no interest in anything, no energy

no appetite

i stare at food, i know i’m hungry

but i don’t want to eat

the sky is perpetually grey

even when it’s blue

especially when it’s blue

the air cold & damp

walking these sorrowful streets

heartsick, weary

lonely, alone, lost

living in a hotel with no home

to go to

my unhappiness is complete

i eat it like stew for dinner

& puke it up

afterward.
